Ms.
Katrina Wellman-Machut grew up mainly in South Dakota. As a teenager
she lived in the Steamboat Springs area and graduated from SoRoCo
in 1995. Katrina received an Associate in Arts at CMC in Steamboat,
and then relocated to Fort Collins to continue her education. She
graduated with honors in 2002, earning a degree in Human Development
and Family Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.
She taught First Grade at Spangler Elementary, a high impact poverty
school, in Longmont, CO for 4 years. During her time at Spangler
she was nominated for DisneyŐs Creative Teacher of the Year award
and received Teacher of the Month in December 2006. This summer
she and her son returned to the Steamboat area, and is excited to
be a part of a school, which values the development of the whole
child. She feels blessed to be a teacher at NRCCS, and couldnŐt
ask for a better school for her son. Katrina is passionate about
teaching and believes learning occurs in an inviting, stimulating
classroom environment.
