October 1. 2007
Dear Parents,
This week we will not have new
spelling words. We returned late from our hike on Friday and there
was not enough time for our spelling test. So, instead of moving
on to a new unit, I would rather take the extra time to ensure that
the students know the words and feel successful on the spelling
test. If you have any concerns or questions about this decision,
please let me know.
The words are:
vendor mentor attend entrance encounter
avenge splendid dentist reopening monument dimension potential tenderly
sensational stupendous
Also, Reading Olympics begins this
week. I will be meeting with each student to discuss their goals
and review the books that they're currently reading.
Many thanks to the parents who
have taken time out of their busy schedules to accompany us on Fridays'
hikes: Chris and Jamie Lindahl, Cynthia Prets, Amy Kenyon, Miss
Kathy, Sheila Zinn, Courtney Tebbencamp, Robyn Washburn, and Shelly
Dillingham. (I sure hope I didn't forget anyone - you're all so
terrific!) Also, thank you to all who attended Open House on the
20th of September. I hope you found the evening to be informative
and that it aided in your transition back to school. If you have
any further questions that were not discussed that evening or feedback
about the evening, please don't hesitate to contact me.
And a special thanks to Steve King,
Dave Mark, Sheila Zinn and the SST members for presenting invaluable
information for our school.
Thank you all for your ongoing
support,
Mrs. Amy
